The solar industry is moving beyond standardized products toward solutions designed for specific sites and applications. Module, tracker, and mounting-system suppliers are increasingly optimizing their products for the intended applications. This trend was evident at SNEC PV+ 2026 in Shanghai and Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, where manufacturers presented products tailored to specific environmental, structural, and land-use requirements.
TaiyangNews is documenting the products showcased at these exhibitions in a three-report series covering production equipment and materials, modules and mounting systems, and energy storage systems and inverters. This report, TaiyangNews New Solar Modules & Mounting Systems Overview 2026, is the second in the series and covers 84 companies, including 56 solar module manufacturers and 28 mounting-system and tracker suppliers. The module section covers developments in various solar cell and module technologies. It also looks at application-specific products for dusty, coastal and extreme-weather environments, along with agrivoltaic, lightweight, flexible, and building-integrated PV modules.
The mounting section covers terrain-adaptive and agrivoltaic trackers, cable-based mounting structures, and rooftop systems. It also examines developments in independent row control, weather-stow functions, installation efficiency, and digital tools for construction monitoring and maintenance.
