  • SECI has launched an RFS round for 1 GW solar PV capacity under ISTS tranche XII
  • Projects need to be installed anywhere in the country on a BOO basis with a maximum of 500 MW to be won by a single entity
  • SECI will procure the power generated from this capacity to be sold further to various buying entities

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has launched a new tender for 1 GW solar PV capacity under tranche XII of inter-state transmission system (ISTS) connected projects.

This request for selection (RFS) round will select solar power developers to build this grid-connected capacity anywhere in India on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis. The minimum bid capacity for a single entity has been set at 50 MW and the maximum at 500 MW. The winners will be expected to ensure interconnection with the ISTS.

Power will be procured by SECI under 25-year power purchase agreements (PPA) with the winners as the intermediary nodal agency, selling the same to various buying entities.

Modules to be used for these projects need to be sourced from the products and companies listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).

Applications to the RFS round launched on October 13, 2023 can be submitted till November 11, 2023 for online and till November 22, 2023 for offline submissions. Details are available on SECI’s website

Under tranche XI launched in March 2023, SECI was seeking developers for 2 GW ISTS connected PV projects in the country (see RFS For 2 GW Solar Power Projects In India).
