SMA Solar’s Leadership Contract Extended

• SMA Solar Technology has offered an extension of 5 years to current CEO Jürgen Reinert
• He will now continue to lead the company until June 30, 2028, completing 10 years as the CEO by that time
• Reinert has also been appointed as the chairman of the company's managing board with immediate effect

SMA Solar Technology of Germany will continue to be led by Jürgen Reinert as the company's CEO for another 5 years, after the company's Supervisory Board extended his mandate while also elevating him as the chairman of the managing board with immediate effect.

Working with the Germany headquartered solar inverter manufacturer since 2011, Reinert joined the company's managing board in 2014. Four years later, he was appointed the CEO, a post that he will now keep until June 30, 2028.

Reinert has followed on another long term CEO of SMA Solar, Pierre-Pascal Urbon who left the inverter company after leading it for 8 years, during which the company went public (see Pierre-Pascal Urbon Leaves SMA Solar).

SMA's management board credited Reinert to have successfully led the group through challenging last few years when the world faced supply chain bottlenecks and a global energy crisis.

"The Supervisory Board is convinced that Jürgen Reinert will continue to lead the company into a successful future with innovative energy solutions, new business models and a sustainable corporate strategy," said SMA Supervisory Board Chairman Uwe Kleinkauf.

Europe's largest solar inverter producer, SMA is currently expanding its inverter manufacturing capacity by 20 GW in Germany to a total of 40 GW from 2025 beginning (see SMA Doubling Inverter Production Capacity).
