As part of TaiyangNews & SNEC 2024 – Solar Leadership Conversations, TaiyangNews Managing Director Michael Schmela interviewed the Vice Chairman and CEO of Jolywood, Jianwei Lin, in an exclusive session.

As a pioneer in TOPCon technology and a leading manufacturer of back sheets, Jolywood stands out in the solar industry. During the conversation, Lin discussed the company’s dual focus on advancing TOPCon technology and maintaining leadership in backsheet manufacturing.

Lin highlighted Jolywood’s steadfast commitment to the backsheet business, a core and traditional segment for the company, boasting 17 years of market leadership in both sales and technology. Despite industry challenges, Lin expressed confidence in the long-term potential of the backsheet market.

The discussion also touched on Jolywood’s innovative windproof modules, a significant advancement in single-glass module technology. Lin shared that these new modules offer improved safety, and efficiency, being nearly 1.6% more efficient than their glass-glass counterparts. The modules are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions, including windstorms, snow, ice, and extreme temperatures.

Lin explained that the company’s early move into the n-type segment, specifically focusing on double-faced TOPCon products, was driven by a belief in the superior efficiency and cost-effectiveness of n-type technology. This decision has positioned Jolywood as a global leader in TOPCon technology, with the company continuing to innovate and reduce costs in this area.

Moreover, Jolywood’s commitment to sustainability was a key topic. The company’s Jiangsu Province-based factory recently earned the title of Jiangsu Province Green Factory, reflecting its dedication to green manufacturing and ESG targets. Lin detailed various green initiatives and sustainability practices implemented at Jolywood’s manufacturing units, aiming to set an example in the industry and promote the use of green power in households.
