Create Energy & RECOM CEOs Establish ReCreate With 5 GW Cell & Module Production Target

  • Create Energy and RECOM Technologies have joined hands to launch ReCreate
  • It will have an annual production capacity of up to 5 GW cells and modules
  • The factory will be located in Portland, Tennessee and cater to the US and EU markets

Solar PV industry veterans and the Chief Executive Officers (CEO) of Create Energy & RECOM Technologies have launched a new manufacturing company called ReCreate in the US targeting an annual production capacity of up to 5 GW cells and modules.

Located in Portland, Tennessee at Create’s mega-plant, the factory aims to cater to the North America and European Union (EU) markets, according to the founders. These are the Founder, CEO and President of Create Energy, and Founder of Shoals Technologies Dean Solon, and CEO of RECOM Technologies Hamlet Tunyan.

Solon founded Shoals recently announced the decision to move to a new, larger location in Portland to expand its existing electrical balance of systems (BOS) manufacturing and distribution operations (see Eyeing Growth, Shoals Technologies Group To Expand).

The official statement for ReCreate’s launch does not reveal too many details about the 5 GW project; however, the promoters claim it will deliver cutting-edge solar solutions and focus on high-quality American-engineering products.

RECOM dabbles in several technologies including back contact, heterojunction (HJT), and TOPCon and operates more than 3.2 GW annual production capacity. It is not known what technology ReCreate’s factory will adopt.

Solon said, “At Create Energy, our mission is to ReCreate the renewables market and offer comprehensive solutions for solar, BESS, and eMobility projects. ReCreate will set the standard for the solar module and cell markets.”
