50 Hertz showcased its CUBEVOLT CV PLUS 125 kW/261 kWh C&I ESS at the exhibition
The company also presented its CV ULTRA 2.5 MW/5 MWh BESS for utility applications
Both products feature liquid-cooling-based thermal regulation, guarantee a life of up to 8,000 cycles, and are rated for a system conversion efficiency of ≥90%
50 Hertz Limited, a sister company of Manikaran Power Limited, promoted its CUBEVOLT CV PLUS energy storage system (ESS) and CV ULTRA battery energy storage system (BESS) at the REI 2026 exhibition.
The CV PLUS is cabinet-based, while the CV ULTRA is container-based, and both have an IP54 ingress protection rating.
Both products use either 314 Ah, 587 Ah, or 628 Ah lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cells, while their total storage capacity and full-load power outputs (3-phase) vary. Equipped with 314 Ah cells, the cabinet-based ESS offers up to 261.25 kWh of storage capacity with a rated full-load power output of 125 kW (at 400 V AC). Its containerized counterpart, featuring 314 Ah cells, offers up to 5,016 kWh with a corresponding nominal power output of 2,500 kW (at 600 V AC). They have a built-in bidirectional power conversion system (PCS) for grid pairing.
Both models support emergency backup for around 2 hours or until the battery reaches its discharge limit, at a 0.5P rate. They also have the same guaranteed life of up to 8,000 cycles (charging/discharging) under testing conditions of 25°C and a 0.5P rate. Their system conversion efficiency is ≥90%. An operating temperature range of -20 to +55°C and liquid cooling are also common for both models.
CV PLUS's capacity can be scaled up to 1 MW/2 MWh by connecting eight units in parallel, targeting commercial & industrial (C&I) use cases. In comparison, the CV ULTRA targets grid-scale applications.
