Key Takeaways
  • BYD Energy Storage showcased its MC-Cube-XT and BYD Haohan BESS at Solar & Storage Live UK 2026

  • The former product features 12 cube-type cabinets in a 7,550 × 2,438 × 2,896 mm container frame, while the latter combines 4 cubes on a common base frame

  • The company also displayed its Battery-Box HVB/HVE/HVM+ storage, and Power-Box residential hybrid inverters

BYD Energy Storage, the energy storage arm of well-known Chinese car maker BYD, showcased its latest product lineup at Solar & Storage Live UK 2026 for utility and residential customers.

The company displayed its MC-Cube-XT and BYD Haohan utility battery energy storage systems (BESS), both built around long, thin, and blade-shaped battery packs. Traditional BESS accommodates multiple battery stacks within a 20- or 40-ft container. Instead, the displayed products combine multiple cabinet-based storage sections within a container frame. MC-Cube-XT consists of 12 cube-type cabinets and features 1,980 Ah blade-type batteries, for a total storage capacity of 6,437 kWh. It measures 7,550 × 2,438 × 2,896 mm (W × D × H). In comparison, BYD Haohan uses 4 cubes with a higher battery capacity (2,710 Ah) for a total storage capacity of 14,568 kWh. The company says its size is comparable to a standard 20 ft container. The two BESS systems have a rated full-load DC power output of 1,608 kW and 1,820 kW, respectively.

BYD also showcased its GC Flux series bidirectional power conversion system (PCS) station at its booth. The above products can be charged or discharged from or to the grid via this PCS, offering a maximum rated capacity of 7,000 kW. The company specifies a maximum conversion efficiency of 99% and an overload capacity of up to 300% for 10 seconds.

For residential applications, the company introduced its Battery-Box HVB/HVE/HVM+ storage and Power-Box hybrid inverters (3-phase) at the show.
