Key Takeaways
  • DeltaX displayed its rack-based, air-cooled X-Vela storage system with up to 223.1 kWh of capacity for space-constrained AIDCs

  • The company promoted its X-Polaris BESS with built-in PCS for a higher storage capacity and to support AC- or DC-coupled PV + storage systems

  • Also part of its promotions was X-Hyperion, a 2,438 × 6,058 × 2,896 mm container-based BESS

South Korea-based AI solution provider DeltaX, which specializes in computer vision and battery energy storage systems (BESSs), displayed its X-Vela and X-Polaris energy storage systems (ESS) at The Battery Show India 2026. These products are suitable for AI data center (AIDC) applications.

X-Vela is essentially a modular, rack-based BESS, like a data-center server in a vertical rack configuration. It is equipped with 9 to 17 battery packs, each rated at 13.12 kWh or 169.8 Ah, placed in pre-configured slots for a total storage capacity of 118.1 kWh to 223.1 kWh. In addition to storage energy, its corresponding DC voltage range of 695.5 V to 1,313.76 V helps users match the data center’s DC-bus voltage and backup power needs. This rack-based design allows capacity expansion through incremental height increases, from 1,343 to 2,325 mm in a 517 × 1,391 mm (W × D) footprint that addresses space constraints in AIDC environments. This design also allows AIDC O&M personnel to replace faulty battery racks without fully shutting down the BESS, helping them achieve faster turnaround times. It uses an air-cooling system for thermal regulation. According to the company, its rack-replacement flexibility also helps align the airflow with the AIDC’s existing HVAC system. The product datasheet specifies a weight range of 1 to 2 tons.

X-Polaris, by contrast, features a higher storage capacity of 852.04 kWh and a corresponding ampere-hour capacity of 636.8 Ah, in a 1,586 × 2,747 × 2,567 mm (W × D × H) cabinet. It offers a higher system voltage (DC) of 1,344 V and an IP55-rated enclosure, making it suitable for outdoor installation. It combines the storage section and a 150 kW power conversion system (PCS) within the cabinet, rather than placing only the battery storage section. This PCS is a bidirectional converter that pairs the storage system to the grid, delivering power during discharging and absorbing power from the grid during charging. According to the company, this product supports an AC- or DC-coupled PV + storage system. It uses liquid cooling and an independent HVAC system for thermal regulation, with a heavier maximum system weight of 7.5 tons.

The company also displayed its X-Hyperion BESS (2,438 × 6,058 × 2,896 mm), offering a maximum storage capacity of 7.763 MWh. It features 648 Ah battery modules and has IP66-level ingress protection.
