Key Takeaways
  • Exicom introduced its Energy Qb Power Tower 32 battery with a total capacity of 32 kWh

  • The company's 261.25 kWh Energy Qb Grid Code 261 battery is rated for a guaranteed life of ≥6,000 cycles

  • The former product supports capacity expansion by connecting eight units in parallel, while the latter supports 10 units

Exicom, formerly known as Exicom Tele-Systems Limited, an EV charger, energy storage system (ESS), and critical power management solution provider, highlighted its rack- and cabinet-based (cube-type) battery storage at REI 2026.

The company promotes its Energy Qb Power Tower 32 rack-based battery for commercial-scale use cases. This product comprises up to four battery modules, each rated at 8.04 kWh, mounted on one another to form a tower-like structure with a total capacity of 32 kWh. It uses 314 Ah lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cells and specifies a nominal system voltage of 550 V.

It offers a common default charge/discharge rate of 0.5C. The company specifies a charging temperature range of 0 to +60°C and a wider discharging temperature range of -20 to +60 °C. It has a guaranteed life of ≥8,000 cycles (charging/discharging) at 25°C. It measures 787 × 265 × 1,230 mm (W × D × H) and has an IP66 rating, making it suitable for outdoor installation in a floor-standing configuration. It employs natural fan cooling for thermal regulation.

Energy Qb Grid Core 261 is targeted at more extreme outdoor conditions such as remote sites and harsh weather. It has up to 13 battery units, each rated at 20.10 kWh, for a total capacity of 261.25 kWh. These batteries are placed in a vertical arrangement within a larger cube-type cabinet (1,200 × 1,450 × 2,300 mm). The charging/discharging rates and the corresponding operating temperature ranges are the same as those of Power Tower 32. However, it uses air conditioning for thermal regulation, instead of air cooling, with a shorter guaranteed battery life of ≥6,000 cycles at 25°C.

For capacity expansion, the Power Tower 32 supports up to eight units in parallel connection to form a 256 kWh cluster. The Grid Core 261 can connect a higher number of units (up to 10) for a 2.6 MWh cluster.
