Chinese PV-plus-storage system maker Fox ESS showcased its G-MAX PLUS commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage system (ESS) at Solar & Storage Live UK 2026.

Measuring 1,040 × 2,230 × 1,500 mm (W × H × D), this cabinet combines vertically stacked battery storage, a liquid-cooling system with a coolant chamber, and a hybrid power conversion system (PCS). The storage section uses four lithium-iron phosphate battery packs, each rated at 314 Ah and 60.29 kWh, connected in a vertical stacking architecture for a total capacity of 241 kWh. It has a rated operating voltage range of 672 to 876 V and a full-load charging/discharging current of 190 A.

The ESS uses a built-in bidirectional hybrid PCS to convert and transmit battery power to up to 125 kW full-load power output (3-phase) via a dedicated port. It also absorbs the same power from the grid during charging. Unlike traditional PCS, which only supports battery storage, it connects to up to 250 kW of PV capacity through 8 MPPTs, each with a voltage range of 180 to 850 V. The storage and PV array can be coupled with the user's grid-side or a 207 kVA diesel generator via the PCS's 'AC INPUT' port to make an on-or off-grid PV-plus-storage system, respectively. This ESS switches to emergency backup mode within 10 ms of a grid outage and supports up to 137.5 kVA backup loads through an 'EPS OUTPUT' port. This backup lasts for around 2 hours or until the battery reaches its discharge limit. The G-MAX PLUS lists its maximum system round-trip efficiency at 87% and its conversion efficiency at 98%.

The product uses a circulating liquid coolant to absorb heat through cold plates positioned beneath each battery pack, and has a specified operating temperature range of -25 to +55°C. The company guarantees more than 8,000 cycles of battery life with up to 70% capacity retention.

For grid-interactive energy management services, it supports peak shaving, load shedding, and frequency regulation, among others, depending on regional regulations and available capacity.

The product is commercially available.
