Sungrow has supplied its PowerTitan 2.0 battery storage system for what it said is the largest commissioned BESS in the Nordic region. The 70 MW/160 MWh project, developed by Delta Capacity in Ånge, Sweden, entered commercial operations earlier this month. The installation is designed to operate in harsh Nordic weather conditions and will provide grid services including frequency regulation and energy arbitrage to support Sweden’s power system, said Sungrow. The project is owned by a joint venture between WOOD & Company Renewables Sub-Fund and Delta Capacity.
Sungrow has commissioned the RESPITE solar-plus-storage project in Sierra Leone. It says the facility is the country's first major national-scale power generation project connected to the grid in nearly a decade. The World Bank-backed project includes 35 MWh of battery energy storage using eight PowerTitan energy storage systems. Currently, the country is dealing with a fragile national grid and daily power outages of up to 18 hours. Sungrow says the project is expected to increase Sierra Leone's electricity access rate from 16% to 36% once fully operational, improving power supply for households, schools, healthcare facilities, and businesses.
Eku Energy, the UK-based energy storage developer, has acquired a 300 MW BESS project in the UK from Bluestone Energy. The project, located in Didcot, Oxfordshire, has secured planning consent and is expected to support grid flexibility as the country’s renewable energy capacity grows. Law firm TLT advised Eku Energy on the acquisition, providing legal support on the transaction.
Consolidated Asset Management Services (CAMS) says it has been selected as the asset manager for the 1 GWh Scatter Wash BESS project in Arizona. The project is owned by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP). Under the agreement, CAMS will provide asset management services, including operational oversight, commercial management, regulatory compliance, and performance optimization for the utility-scale battery project. The commercial operations of the Maricopa County of Arizona located project started in 2025.
FIC Partners Management, a middle-market investment firm, has acquired Perfect Power, a US-based battery energy storage and solar assets company. The acquisition includes the Jaguar Energy Center in Texas, a grid-connected energy platform with up to 1.15 GW of planned battery storage and solar capacity across about 4,500 acres. FIC said it will continue expanding the Jaguar Energy Center and pursue additional power generation opportunities in the ERCOT market.
