Key Takeaways
  • Hoymiles’ HiFlow series microinverter, featuring a single MPPT, supports 2 PV modules connected in the same orientation

  • The HiFlow Pro series product is designed for PV modules with varied orientations

  • The company also expected to launch its first hybrid micro-storage by June 2026

A provider of module-level power electronics (MLPE) and energy storage solutions (ESS), Hoymiles, has introduced its latest HiFlow and HiFlow Pro microinverters. These products are aimed at Europe’s residential balcony and DIY setups.

The first of the two consists of a single MPPT channel and is rated for maximum power output (1-phase) of 800 W. It has a rated conversion (DC/AC) efficiency of up to 97%. The company says that it maximizes the power generation of 2 PV modules, each rated up to 500 W, when installed in the same orientation, even under partial shading conditions. Its module-level start-up voltage, which is typically lower than that of conventional string-based balcony solar inverters, also delivers additional power in low-light conditions.

The latter model is equipped with up to 4 independent MPPT channels, is suitable for up to 4 PV modules (4-in-1), installed in a complex setup or varying orientations. According to the company, this product is available in different configurations, including 1-in-1, 2-in-1, and 4-in-1, offering multiple choices to household consumers. It has a rated power output (AC) range of 300 W to 2,000 W. It offers an additional feature – Dynamic Power Adjustment – than its conventional peers with only individual module-based real-time power optimization. Assuming partial shading conditions over a 2 × 500 W PV setup, this function automatically harvests additional DC power from the unshaded module, compensating for the power reduction in real time. The company states that its MPPT has static and dynamic conversion efficiency of up to 99.8% and 99.5%, respectively.

From an installation and commissioning perspective, both microinverters carry a ‘plug-in’ design and Wi-Fi & Bluetooth-based remote communication capabilities. Together, these features help consumers install and operationalize the whole system within 60 seconds, claims Hoymiles.

These products are ready for the European market, while regional commercialization will be rolled out phase-wise. The company is also expected to unveil its first hybrid micro-storage solution by June 2026.
