SINEXCEL’s StellaON 1250K/1575K series PCSs can be configured in a range of 1C, 0.5C, and 0.25C
These have a maximum conversion efficiency of 98.5%
These PCSs are equipped with Infineon’s ‘Power Module’ IGBT-based power switching devices
SINEXCEL, an energy storage system (ESS), EV charging, and power quality solutions provider, introduced its megawatt (MW)-scale utility power conversion system (PCS), StellaON 1250K/1575K, at Intersolar Europe 2026. These products are focused on Europe’s renewable energy-heavy grid.
A PCS is a bidirectional (charging/discharging) battery inverter connected between a battery energy storage system (BESS) and the utility grid. The StellaON 1250K and 1575K series are rated at 1,250 kVA and 1,575 kVA of apparent power, respectively, while both are equipped with Infineon’s IGBT-based power switching devices, called ‘Power Module’. Apparent power comprises 2 components: active (usable energy) and reactive (non-usable energy needed for grid stability). The former product supports up to 5 MWh BESS and can deliver or absorb the rated energy at full-load apparent power at 1C-rate and 690 V AC voltage. Its C-rate can also be capped to 0.5C and 0.25C, enabling backup flexibility with reduced power output. In contrast, the latter can be combined with up to 6.25 MWh BESS for applications that demand 0.5C or 0.25C-rate. Both systems are engineered to continue their operation at up to 1.8 times overload conditions for up to 10 seconds, maintaining operation during grid transient events.
On the DC side, both PCSs are designed to support a battery voltage output of up to 1500 V. The lower-capacity model charges or discharges up to 1,375 kW DC power at 1,202 A, while the other is rated at 1,732 kW and 1,515 A.
At the system level, they measure 720 × 2,300 × 1,600 mm (W × H × D) and weigh 1,400 Kg. Both can operate at a maximum conversion efficiency (DC-AC/AC-DC) of 98.5% at full-load power. Their operational thermal regulation is controlled by circulating natural air. For system capacity expansion, up to 4 PCSs can be connected in parallel, either on the DC or AC side, simultaneously.
According to the product datasheet, these products can provide up to 99% of system availability.
