Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) has suspended the country’s A-5 New Energy Auction that was scheduled to be held on September 16, 2022 for which it registered 83 GW capacity comprising 55.82 GW of solar PV (see 55 GW Solar Registered For Brazil’s A-5 Auction).

Brazil’s Energy Research Office of Empresa de Pesquisa Energética (EPE) has registered 114.86 GW new energy capacity for both A-5 and A-6 auctions to be held on September 16, 2022 out of which solar capacity accounts for 55.82 GW.

Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency (ANEEL) has said the country’s Energy Research Company (EPE) registered 93.859 GW of new power generation capacity from 1,694 projects for the upcoming A-5 New Energy Auction.

Brazil will hold its next auction to procure new energy generation projects in the A-5 category on September 30, 2021, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) confirmed. It has published a decree to this effect in the country’s official gazette.
