Till the end of March 31, 2022, Italy’s cumulative installed solar PV capacity has touched 23 GW (to be specific 22.96 GW) with 185% annual growth in Q1/2022 numbers of 433 MW, according to the local renewable energy association Anie Rinnovabili.

Due to COVID-19 related lockdowns in the earlier part of the year, Italian solar PV installations suffered according to Anie Rinnovabili, before picking up pace in May 2020 and June 2020, bringing H1/2020 additions to 259 MW.
