After postponing new energy auctions scheduled for 2020 in March this year due to the spread of COVID-19, Brazil has now cancelled the same but announced auction schedule for the next 3 years.

The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) of Brazil has announced tariff caps for the A-4 auction scheduled for June 28, 2019. Projects using solar PV technology cannot bid beyond BRL 276 ($68.57) per MWh.

In early May 2019, Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy announced to include solar as a participating technology in the A-6 New Energy Auction. Soon after it delayed the date for the auction, which will be now held on October 17, 2019.
