Indian renewable energy capacity now over 92 GW: The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) says as on January 31, 2021, Indian renewable energy capacity reached a total of 92.54 GW with the addition of 1,396.97 MW in January 2021.

As per KREDL, as of January 2021 Karnataka had exceeded 7 GW of solar power installed capacity, as against the target of 6 GW by 2021. Under the draft renewable energy policy 2021-26, it aims to now aim for 20 GW capacity, up from 15 GW so far.
