The 1st large scale solar power plant in Qatar, 800 MW Al Kharsaah PV Project has been commissioned by the consortium of France’s TotalEnergies, Qatar’s QatarEnergy and Japan’s Marubeni, and is designed to provide 10% of the country’s peak consumption.

Commercial and industrial (C&I) energy retailer SmartestEnergy Australia will procure solar power from 30 community-based solar farms in Australia from clean energy investor Providence Asset Group (PAG), under a multi-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

Japanese business group Marubeni Corporation has announced it will be developing a 100 MW solar PV power plant in Feni located in Bangladesh’s Chittagong region, under a memorandum of understanding signed with the Electricity Generation Company of Bangladesh Limited (EGCB).
