The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) of Sri Lanka has launched 2 separate tenders comprising 100 MW AC ground mounted solar power plant in Siyambalanduwa, and 30 MW AC capacity to be developed as ground mounted/floating solar on build-own-operate (BOO) basis.

NTPC Limited of India and Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) through their joint venture (JV) Trincomalee Power Company Limited (TPCL) will develop a 100 MW Solar Power Plant in Sampur town of Sri Lanka under a Joint Venture & Shareholders’ Agreement (JVSHA) signed between the duo.

The proposed 100 MW floating solar power plant for Maduru Oya reservoir is part of the 400 MW solar plant of Sri Lanka's Soorya Bala Sangramaya Phase IV program, which also aims for 2x100 MW solar plants in Pooneryn and 100 MW in Monaragala.
