A very attractive rooftop solar FIT of $0.0838 per kWh as exists in Vietnam now, itself a drop from $0.0935 per kWh, is expected to drop further down to between $0.052 per kWh to $0.058 per kWh, depending on commercial and residential use, according to local media reports.

The VEPG factsheet on Vietnam’s rooftop solar space shares monthly statistics on its growth. It shows from 378 MW installed by the end of December 2019, the country added 50.7 MW in the subsequent month to take the total to 428.6 MW.

As per installed rooftop solar capacity by customer group in Vietnam till December 2019, large system sizes helped the industrial segment take the cake for the highest installed capacity, even though the household/residential segment has the highest number of installed systems.
