Chinese integrated solar PV manufacturer LONGi Solar has reported achieving 25.19% power conversion efficiency for its P-type TOPCon monocrystalline solar cell. It was confirmed in testing carried out by the German Institut für Solarenergieforschung (ISFH).
LONGi calls it a new world record, and is higher than the company’s own previous record of 25.02% for P-type monocrystalline bifacial TOPCon solar cell in June 2021 (see LONGi Claims 3 New Cell Conversion Efficiency Records).
“We always adhere to the development concept of high target traction, choosing the right direction, focusing on industry-leading technology and seeking to push back the boundaries for product development, thus driving technology change within the industry”, commented Dr Li Hua, Head of the Cell R&D Center.
In a very brief statement released, LONGi did not share details of how it achieved the efficiency, but said the cells for this achievement were developed by the company at its Cell R&D Centre.
