Back contact manufacturer AIKO has been awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal for its sustainability performance. EcoVadis awards 4 levels of medals – Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze – to the top 35% of companies assessed, based on a percentile ranking calculated across all industries. In addition to these medals, EcoVadis also provides 2 badges, named Fast Mover and Committed.

As of January 2025, EcoVadis awards its medals based on a company’s percentile ranking among all organizations it assesses across industries. To qualify for a Bronze Medal, a company must rank within the top 35%, corresponding to a score in the 65th percentile or higher. The Silver Medal is awarded to companies within the top 15% (85th percentile or higher), while the Gold Medal recognizes those in the top 5% (95th percentile or higher). The Platinum Medal is reserved for the top 1% of companies globally (99th percentile and above).

The scoring is based on findings from 360° Watch, which combines human and AI analysis of positive and negative news about a company from over 100,000 public sources over the past 5 years.

AIKO managed an overall score of 72/100 in 2025, ranking in the top 15% for Environment, top 5% for Labor & Human Rights, top 5% for Ethics, and top 2% for Sustainable Procurement. This performance earned AIKO an award in the Silver Medal category.

There remains scope for AIKO to further improve its sustainability performance to reach Gold or Platinum levels. Strong internal policies and compliance with global ESG and sustainability regulations will be essential to achieving these targets. The company highlights its ongoing initiatives in low-carbon manufacturing and responsible sourcing.

AIKO’s Senior Vice President, Henry Xia, commented, “This Silver Medal from EcoVadis is a meaningful recognition of AIKO’s commitment to sustainability, transparency, and responsible growth. It affirms our continuous efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, protect the well-being of our people and partners, and uphold the highest ethical standards across our global operations.”
