Key Takeaways
  • APsystems' EMA APP V9.0.0 features a new interface that, according to the company, facilitates faster navigation than its earlier version

  • It includes an AI-assisted energy management system, APEMS, to automatically coordinate between connected PV, storage, smart devices, and the electric meter according to real-time demands

  • The new app features enhanced work modes and an AI-assisted chatbot, APbot

APsystems has updated its Energy Monitoring & Analysis (EMA) platform, EMA APP V9.0.0, with a few functional advancements and feature optimizations. This platform, which is accessible via the app or web browser, supports remote monitoring and automated operations and maintenance (O&M) for distributed home PV + storage systems.

The company says the app introduces four major upgrades: a new app interface, an AI-powered energy management system (EMS) called APEMS, enhanced work modes, and an AI assistant called APbot.

Compared with the earlier version, users can familiarize themselves with the embedded module (functional) layout after entering the new home page and following the guidance. They can then navigate to the desired page faster by selecting the desired modules on the screen. A few of these functionalities include entering the work mode settings page and viewing the battery state of charge curve, among others. The new interface also includes the classic energy flow mode from the previous version, which shows a real-time energy flow diagram across connected loads.

APEMS, included in the app, connects home PV, storage, electric meters, and smart devices in a single digital platform and enables automatic coordination between the user's entire energy ecosystem. On the work mode side, this platform offers enhanced functionality. It has four modes for PV + storage systems: AI mode, self-consumption, time-based charging/discharging control, and emergency backup. For solar-only systems, it offers four independent modes: full export, export power control, dynamic tariff, and time-based control. In addition, this EMS's embedded AI engine learns user load patterns and factors in weather forecasts and electricity prices to generate an optimal 24-hour energy dispatch strategy. It also refines the strategy every 30 minutes. The company suggests that users who opt for AI mode schedule intelligent charging/discharging according to regional dynamic tariff prices.

Users can enable APbot, an AI-assisted chatbot, from the service menu. The company says the chatbot supports energy-related voice inputs and provides illustrative, visual responses. It also provides real-time device status and suggests troubleshooting.
