Key Takeaways
  • ARaymond has commercially launched its Neluma floating photovoltaic platform after validating a pilot installation in France

  • The system uses mobile micro-factories near project sites to manufacture and assemble components locally

  • Neluma features recyclable aluminum catamaran floats and a clip-on fastening system designed for rapid installation and reduced maintenance

French industrial company ARaymond has launched Neluma, its floating photovoltaic (FPV) platform for solar installations on water bodies. According to the company, the system is designed for use on reservoirs, agricultural ponds, industrial water bodies, and artificial lakes.

Neluma features a modular design that can be adapted to various site layouts, including irregularly-shaped water bodies. The company says this platform uses its clip-on fastening system for assembly and is designed to simplify installation. It adds that the design reduces on-site fastening requirements and does not require retightening during operation.

The platform also uses catamaran-style floats made from 100% recyclable aluminum instead of conventional plastic-based components. The company claims its mooring system is designed to reduce material use while limiting environmental impact on local ecosystems. In addition, ARaymond has developed a deployment model based on mobile micro-factories located near project sites, where components are manufactured and assembled to reduce transportation needs and accelerate installation.

The company began developing Neluma in 2021. The first pilot installation was commissioned in Savoie, France, in partnership with renewable electricity supplier Enercoop. The approximately 260 kW project was installed in 7 days and has reportedly operated without corrective maintenance since entering service in 2024.

ARaymond is expanding Neluma through regional production hubs in France, India, and Brazil, where mobile micro-factories manufacture and assemble components near project sites. In Europe, the company is targeting large floating solar projects, including those on former quarries and other managed water bodies. It has also launched projects in India and Brazil, with applications ranging from power plant reservoirs to agricultural water bodies.

ARaymond will showcase the Neluma floating PV platform at Intersolar Europe 2026, taking place in Munich from June 23-25, 2026.
