

ARRAY showcased its DuraTrack D2S dual-row tracker at Intersolar Europe 2026
Its main differentiator is a passive wind-stow mechanism that responds to wind loading at the row level

US-based solar tracker manufacturer ARRAY Technologies showcased its DuraTrack D2S dual-row tracker at Intersolar Europe 2026. The company says this is the first implementation of its passive wind-stow technology in a dual-row tracker.
Its main differentiator is Wind XP, ARRAY’s patented passive wind-stow technology. Wind XP responds mechanically to wind-induced torque at the row level, rather than relying on a site-wide command to initiate stow. When wind loading reaches the design threshold, the affected rows can move towards lower-load positions, while unaffected rows can continue tracking and generating electricity. According to the company, this avoids moving unaffected rows into a protective position and can provide a modeled energy advantage of up to 4% during certain wind events, depending on site conditions. The tracker is designed for 3-second wind gusts of up to 225 km/h.
Beyond passive wind stow, DuraTrack D2S includes terrain-following capability, self-powered controls, wireless communication and tracking-optimization software. These features are also available in different forms from several tracker suppliers. The system supports up to 2° of pile-to-pile terrain variation, allowing its structure to follow gradual changes in the natural land contour. According to ARRAY, this terrain-following capability, derived from its OmniTrack platform, can reduce grading, foundation requirements and other civil works on suitable sites.
DuraTrack D2S offers a configurable ground coverage ratio (GCR), typically ranging from 28% to 50%. Its standard torque-tube height is 1.37 m. Depending on project requirements, this can be reduced to 1.22 m or increased to as much as 2.7 m. ARRAY says the tracker can accommodate up to 6.3% more installed capacity on the same land area than tracker designs that require gaps around bearing housings.
The tracker is compatible with ARRAY’s SmarTrack software. Its functions include terrain-adaptive backtracking and diffuse-weather optimization. The former adjusts tracker positioning to limit inter-row shading on uneven sites. The latter changes tracker operation under conditions with a high share of diffuse irradiance. Similar optimization functions are increasingly common in the tracker market.
Launched in June 2026, the company is initially targeting the DuraTrack D2S product at Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. According to ARRAY, its first commercial installation began in Spain in Q1 2026.
