Key Takeaways
  • Astronergy showcased its latest ASTRO N7 and ASTRO N7s series modules, featuring TOPCon 5.0 cell and 0BB (ZBB) metallization technology

  • The ASTRO N7s series model boasts a power output and an efficiency of up to 470 W and 23.5%, respectively

  • However, the ASTRO N8 Pro model, equipped with 16BB TOPCon cells, can deliver up to 800 W of power and 24.6% efficiency

Astronergy, a well-known Chinese PV module maker, recently promoted its latest utility and distributed generation (DG) scale PV module portfolio during the SNEC 2025 exhibition.

DG Scenario Products

Leveraging the company’s upgraded TOPCon cell technology, or TOPCon 5.0, coupled with advancements in zero busbar (ZBB) metallization technology, Astronegy showcased its ASTRO N7 and ASTRO N7s series modules at the event. These modules are suitable for DG-scale applications.

Advancement in TOPCon Cell metallization

By adopting the ZBB + Carrier Film technology, Astronergy has implemented a process in which 20 metal ribbons are precisely pre-positioned on the surface of ZBB cells using a low-fluidity carrier film. In this method, the ribbons are first laid down, followed by the application of the carrier film. The final step involves completing the soldering and alloying through a low-temperature lamination process.

Unlike traditional interconnection methods that rely on busbars and ribbons to conduct current, Astronergy says its approach optimizes ribbon design to reduce the cell’s front-side shading area, streamline the current transfer path, and ultimately boost conversion efficiency and overall performance. According to the company, this ZBB metallization route offers several key advantages: zero soldering stress, high adhesion strength, a simplified manufacturing process, and strong compatibility with next-generation cell technologies. These benefits of the cell result in improvement in the module’s mechanical durability by minimizing cell microcrack risks, stated the company.

Product Description

The ASTRO N7s module features TOPCon 5.0 half-cells, which have a 0BB metallization configuration. This aesthetically pleasing module, assembled with a black colored frame, boasts a power output and an efficiency of up to 470 W and 23.5%, respectively. The company offers a product and performance warranty for a duration, not exceeding 25 and 30 years, respectively, for this module.

Utility Scenario Product

Concerning utility-scale applications, the company showcased its latest ASTRO N7 Pro and ASTRO N8 Pro, which incorporate half-cut cell architecture and multi-busbar (16BB) TOPCon cell technology. According to the company, the ASTRO N7 Pro is rated for a maximum power and efficiency of 670 W and 24.8%, respectively. However, the ASTRO N8 Pro model can deliver up to 800 W of power and 24.6% efficiency. The company offers these modules with product and power attenuation warranties of up to 15 and 30 years, respectively.
