  • The company's AC-coupled battery platform supports modular capacity expansion without modifying the PV inverter

  • The showcased products target both residential and commercial energy applications

Energy storage solutions provider Atmoce showcased its latest residential and commercial energy storage portfolio, microinverters, and AC-coupled battery systems at Intersolar Europe 2026. Speaking with TaiyangNews at the event, James Turner, Solutions Manager for Atmoce UK, highlighted the company’s focus on microinverter-based PV systems, modular batteries, and a dual active bridge (DAB) cyclo-inversion microinverter.

Conventional string inverters have multiple PV modules connected to them, while a microinverter is installed directly at an individual or two PV modules. This allows each module to be monitored for its maximum power point tracking (MPPT), reducing the impact of shading and mismatch between the modules. Another advantage of the microinverter is that high-voltage DC cabling across the rooftop is replaced by AC cabling at the module level, enhancing system safety.

A key product showcase was Atmoce’s 2-in-1 microinverter with DAB cyclo-inversion feature that allows energy to flow in both directions between AC and DC. According to Turner, this capability has been demonstrated in a project in Switzerland using LONGi’s modules. With this feature, the electricity generated by the PV modules can be temporarily fed back into the modules, heating the surface and melting the snow on module surface. This feature was also recognized at The smarter E AWARD 2026, shortlisting the 2-in-1 microinverter among the 10 finalists under the Photovoltaics category. The microinverter, part of the company’s MI-Series, operates with 98.2% peak efficiency and comes with a 25-year product warranty.

In addition to the microinverter, the company introduced an AC-coupled residential battery platform. In an AC-coupled system, the battery connects to the AC side of the installation, allowing it to be added to both existing and new solar systems without modifying the PV inverter. Turner emphasized an 8 kW low-voltage battery available in both single and 3-phase configurations.

He also described another aspect of Atmoce’s battery system: its stackable AC modular capability, with each AC battery module rated at 16 kWh capacity and 10 kW power output. For C&I applications, the system can go up to 112 kWh per stack, using up to 7 battery modules.
