Key Takeaways
  • BayRobot’s H1 Pro combines autonomous navigation with wired and PV-powered wireless charging

  • Ultrasonic, time-of-flight, VCSEL and RTK GNSS sensors support navigation and positioning

  • The 23 kg robot operates for up to 4.5 hours per charge and on dry slopes of up to 16°

China-based BayRobot has introduced the H1 Pro autonomous PV cleaning robot for residential and commercial and industrial (C&I) systems. After completing a cleaning cycle, the robot can return to its charging station and recharge wirelessly.

For navigation and positioning, H1 Pro combines 2 sets of ultrasonic sensors, 2 sets of time-of-flight (ToF) laser sensors, a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) vision sensor and real-time kinematic global navigation satellite system (RTK GNSS). Users can follow its position and cleaning status through a mobile application. BayRobot specifies positioning accuracy within 10 mm.

The robot cleans up to 1,000 m² per hour and operates for up to 4.5 hours per charge under ideal conditions. It supports dry operation on slopes of up to 16° and an ambient temperature range of -20°C to 45°C. Actual runtime varies with slope, obstacles and battery conditions. Its 17.5 Ah battery takes about 3 hours to charge through a wired connection or 4 hours using the wireless charging station with a 300 Wp PV supply.

H1 Pro measures 560 × 485 × 352 mm and weighs 23 kg. It uses 2 roller brushes, each 1,100 mm long with a 980 mm cleaning width, while the charging station weighs 58.8 kg. BayRobot offers a 1-year warranty or coverage for 1,200 km of operation, whichever comes first. The company also cites a Bureau Veritas test in which the cleaning process caused no module microcracks over 50,000 cycles.
