Energy storage solutions provider BLUETTI has launched the SORA 500 portable solar panel in the US. It combines a rated output of 500 W with a foldable design for easier transportation and storage. According to BLUETTI, it uses monocrystalline solar cells rated for up to 25% efficiency. When folded, the panel measures 569 × 445 × 84 mm and weighs 12.9 kg.
According to the company, the panel has a standard MC4 connector for connection to compatible portable power stations and solar generators. It also features an ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE)-coated surface for easier cleaning and an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.
The SORA 500 can be paired with different BLUETTI power systems depending on the duration and power requirements of an RV trip. For shorter journeys, it can be used with the Elite 300 portable power station and Charger 2 alternator and solar charger, which together support up to 1,200 W of vehicle and solar charging. For longer off-grid stays, the Apex 300 provides 3,840 W output and battery capacity expandable from 2.8 kWh to 19.4 kWh. The panel is also compatible with the company’s RVSolar 5 kWh integrated RV power system, which delivers 5,000 W and supports charging from an alternator or shore power.
The SORA 500 is available in the US at a launch price of $799.
