DAS Solar, a fairly new Chinese company in photovoltaic (PV) cell and module manufacturing, highlighted the latest product offerings at SNEC 2024. The company currently has a cumulative capacity of 30 GW for modules and cells each, encompassing TOPCon, PERC, and XBC technology in 11 locations.
BC Module
Speaking to TaiyangNews during the event, DAS Solar highlighted its flagship Diamond series all-black DBC cell technology-based single-glass module. The company has successfully implemented a back-contact structure on DAS Solar’s 4th generation TOPCon (TOPCon 4.0) cell technology, known as DBC 3.0. This new Diamond series back-contact module, with 108 pieces of G12R or 182 x 210 mm half-cells, boasts a power output of up to 470 W and an efficiency of 24.1%. The company attributes the high module power and efficiency to its advancements in back-contact technology based on the TOPCon 4.0 structure. The DBC 3.0 technology’s key features, which contribute to the high average mass-scale cell efficiency of 26.5%, include high precision laser patterning technology, a narrower electrode pattern design, all-black front surface light trapping design, and compatibility with TOPCon process and equipment. The front side of the DBC cells feature a fingerless and busbarless design which, when integrated with a black backsheet in module dimensions of 1,762 x 1,134 x 30 mm, offers pleasing aesthetics suitable for rooftop applications, added the company. It also significantly enhances module reliability by reducing microcrack-induced power losses contributing to 15 years of product and 30 years of power performance warranty. It is expected to be commercially available by the end of 2024 and will primarily target the European and Australian markets.
Others
Alongside the flagship Diamond series BC module, the company also displayed the 645 W 78-cell bifacial double glass module, the 620 W 66-cell bifacial double glass module, and the 715 W 66-cell bifacial double-glass module based on n-TOPCon technology at the event. In addition, the maiden lightweight DAS-LH132PA series module sheet offered a solution for urban PV application scenarios. The company says the 4 mm thick lightweight module, built with high-polymer composite materials, weighs only 4.2 kg/m², resulting in a 70% weight reduction compared to standard single-glass modules.
