Key Takeaways
  • Deye’s latest inverter is designed to carry up to 200% DC of its rated AC capacity

  • It switches to off-grid mode within 4 ms of any grid failures or outages

  • This inverter has an operational conversion efficiency of up to 97.6%

PV inverter and storage solutions provider Ningbo Deye Technology Co., Ltd., has introduced the latest OG02 series off-grid solar-plus-storage solution. With this product, Deye aims to address the growing demands for uninterrupted cost-effective 1-phase power supply under unstable grid conditions.

This inverter comprises a battery bank and a power controller in an IP65-rated enclosure sized at 30.6 × 42.75 × 17.58 cm. It is equipped with a single MPPT channel that has an operating voltage range of 150 V to 425 V. This product is available in 3 different power ratings (AC), ranging from 3 kW to 6 kW, offering flexibility in selection according to domestic prosumers’ requirements. According to the company, this inverter is designed to accommodate up to 200% DC capacity (PV array) of the rated AC capacity (DC/AC oversizing) to maximize solar harvesting in real-time. As its name indicates, its off-grid nature enables the converter to respond to unforeseen grid failures or outages in under 4 ms, compared with the industry standard range of 10 ms to 20 ms. The company states that this quick response time ensures uninterrupted load consumption for prosumers, without disrupting operations for highly inductive loads. It has a rated conversion efficiency of up to 97.6%.

Deye states that this inverter also supports power arbitrage operation in real-time; however, it doesn’t mention the mode of operation, i.e., whether it’s on-grid or off-grid. It adds that a wide range of classified operations can be performed in an operational temperature range of -40°C to +60°C and a noise level of 46 dB without system failure.
