EcoFlow expanded its residential storage portfolio with its Stream series
The products support modular capacity expansion and integration with existing PV systems
The company’s showcased solutions at Intersolar Europe 2026 reflect the growing demand for flexible residential energy storage
More and more residential energy storage suppliers are developing solutions focused not only on new installations but also on existing PV systems that may require additional storage capacity for future expansion.
China-based energy storage solution provider EcoFlow showcased its expanded residential storage portfolio at Intersolar Europe 2026 and launched new products under Stream series, which include Stream 3000, Stream 5000, and Stream AC 5000.
Speaking to TaiyangNews, Arne Herkelmann, Product Manager at EcoFlow UK, elaborated on the latest-generation products and how they focus on higher storage capacity, improved cooling, and an all-metal enclosure. The vertical expansion design of the storage system allows the form factor to remain the same despite capacity upgradation from the previous products. The new Stream series also adds DC stacking capability alongside its existing AC-coupled modular expansion.
Both Stream 3000 and Stream 5000 are designed as all-in-one integration systems combining solar, storage, and power electronics. Stream AC 5000, an AC-coupled storage system, is primarily intended for homes with existing rooftop PV installations.
According to Herkelmann, the Stream AC 5000 provides 5 kWh of storage with a maximum of 3 kW charging and discharging capacity. Individual units can be expanded to 15 kWh, while up to 6 battery systems can be connected in parallel, resulting in a maximum storage capacity of 90 kWh in a Stream all-in-one system.
The company also showcased its new Stream Gateway product, designed to simplify the integration of plug-in solar into existing buildings. According to Herkelmann, the installation requires only a single connection from the household distribution panel to the gateway, which enables the addition of battery units as storage requirements increase. This product also has an inbuilt current transformer (CT) to help monitor the rooftop PV systems and other household loads, including an EV charger.
