Key Takeaways
  • Energieglück has introduced its newly acquired RE asset management software, Energieglück+

  • It combines AI-based real-time monitoring with digital twin technology to achieve yield forecast accuracy at up to 98%

  • This software is commercially available for PV asset management in Germany, while it will be augmented for BESS in the future

With the digitalization of solar plus storage asset management in focus, Germany-based battery energy storage system (BESS) developer Energieglück has acquired PV Plus, an asset management software.

Calling it Energieglück+, the company emphasizes integration of Generative AI, real-time monitoring, and simulation with digital twin technology on a single virtual platform as the key highlight.

This AI-powered Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) solution monitors and optimizes PV plants by leveraging its digital twin technology in real-time. A digital twin is a virtual, real-time digital replica of a physical system that helps monitor, analyze, and optimize its performance. Unlike the standard AI-based monitoring system, which forecasts energy based on historical data, Energieglück+ combines real-time data with a physical simulation model with an embedded AI algorithm. This makes it possible to compare the real behaviour of the asset with an ideal simulation model and detect deviations from the target state in real-time. As a result, it dynamically adjusts the system’s operations to maximize intraday solar harvesting, which the company calls ‘intelligent redispatch management’. Additionally, this feature preemptively predicts potential faults and minimizes downtime.

The company states that the virtual platform’s accuracy in intraday PV yield forecasting reaches up to 98%, which helps achieve a yield gain of up to 15% compared to standard AI-based peers. It also reduces downtime by up to 40% and enhances asset availability by up to 98% from an average of 78%.

Technical Director at Energieglück+, Oliver Skadow, said, “With our digital twin, we go far beyond classic monitoring. We combine real-time data, physical simulation and AI algorithms for precise yield forecasts of 98% – currently the market leader. For our customers, this means fixing errors before yields are lost.”

This latest software is commercially available in Germany and will be augmented for BESS systems in the future.
