Texas-based FTC Solar, a leading provider of advanced solar tracker technology, has recently unveiled a new product in the linked tracker category. According to the company, this latest solution is designed to help project developers and EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firms) enhance project yield, reduce costs, and maximize land utilization, even on complex project sites.

Branded as the 1P Pioneer Tracker, the dual-row 1P tracker offers up to 17.5% east-west slope tolerance within the 2-row linked category. This enables efficient solar installation on challenging terrain, maintaining high earthwork efficiency without compromising system reliability or performance.

In addition, the tracker supports flexible modular configurations, such as 4x4, 3x3, or 2x2 setups, which can increase power density by up to 23%, according to FTC Solar. The integration of a shared drive tube and dual-row configuration further simplifies installation and improves cost-efficiency, while still ensuring optimal performance.

Notably, the system allows for the integration of both independent and dual-row trackers within a single site, offering greater design flexibility and helping to reduce overall CAPEX through optimized site planning.

Yann Brandt, President and CEO of FTC Solar, stated, “With the introduction of our dual-row configuration, FTC Solar is adding another design option for how utility-scale projects can approach site design and cost efficiency.”
