A part of Yingli Group, Gain Solar presented its building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) product portfolio at Intersolar Europe 2026. The product showcase included solar roof tiles, panels for windows, façades, and skylights, among other applications. The BIPV specialist has also added perovskite- and back-contact-based roof tile products to its portfolio.
For windows and façade applications, Gain Solar has crystalline and amorphous silicon PV glass product variants depending on the transparency requirement. The company offers these products in customized designs, layouts, shapes, and sizes.
Similarly, the company offers roof tiles in various shapes and sizes compatible with traditional roof designs. They are also available in various colors to suit architectural and aesthetic preferences. The company demonstrated the applications of its BIPV products at various locations in China, the Middle East, some parts of Europe, et cetera. It claims these products have been installed in a total area of over 1.25 km² to date.
At the event, Gain Solar presented its integrated solutions that include PV and storage for residential applications covering end-to-end services from design, system installation, and operation & maintenance.
In a recent publication on its website, Gain Solar described scenarios where solar roof tiles make economic sense, including a cost breakdown of a roof tile system. Costing 60% to 190% more than a system with mainstream modules of a similar installation size, solar roof tiles make sense when a roof is being fully replaced, a new roof is being constructed, or a premium or aesthetically pleasing appearance is required.
