Jolywood promoted its new NIWA Air series ultra-thin (2.8 mm) flexible PV module at Intersolar Europe 2025
This module can deliver a power output and an efficiency of up to 575 W and 20.9%, respectively
With a bending radius as small as 0.5 meters, this module can be well suited around curved surfaces
At Intersolar Europe 2025, the TaiyangNews team came across Jolywood’s booth showcasing the company’s latest NIWA Air series flexible PV module. Headquartered in Changshu, Jiangsu Province of China, this 17-year-old company focuses on 4 major business units, including PV materials, solar cells, PV modules, and PV systems.
Product Description
This new module, featuring 144 pieces of n-type half-cut cells, boasts a maximum power output and efficiency of 575 W and 20.9%, respectively.
Without providing many technical details, Jolywood noted that the module benefited from its vast backsheet manufacturing experience. The result is an ultra-thin, glass-free design measuring 2,260 × 1,219 × 2.8 mm and weighing only 2.9 kg/m², amounting to a total weight of just 8 kg, which is 70% lighter than traditional glass-based modules. The module can be bent or curved around a surface with a radius as small as 0.5 meters (50 cm) without damage or performance loss, which indicates greater flexibility, according to the company.
Regarding its adaptability to Europe’s diverse roof surfaces, the company calls this flexible product the ‘perfect choice’ for low-load bearing roofs and curved roof surfaces, all while preserving the underlying roof’s integrity,. Particularly, it is targeted for applications such as camping, curved roofs, balconies, and vehicle roofs, among others.
This IEC61215/IEC61730 certified module features a 12-year product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty.
