Key takeaways:

  • India-based Kosol Energie launched dual-glass TOPCon modules designed to withstand 35 mm hail impact

  • The modules feature a higher GSM encapsulant and have undergone 3× IEC testing

  • The series is available in 600 W, 620 W, and 630 W variants, including BIS-certified DCR versions based on G12 and G12R TOPCon cells

India-based solar manufacturer Kosol Energie has introduced its latest dual-glass TOPCon modules, which have been tested for performance in extreme weather conditions. They are aimed at markets where hailstorms and harsh monsoons are a major concern. The company stated that the modules have undergone 3× IEC testing for environmental performance.

According to the company, these modules are qualified for 35 mm hail resistance and show no microcracks caused by hail impact. It stated that the modules are constructed using a higher GSM polyolefin elastomer (POE) encapsulant, which provides an additional advantage in the modules' mechanical performance.

The modules are available in 600 W, 620 W, and 630 W power outputs. They are also available in BIS-certified domestic content requirement (DCR) variants, an important requirement for domestic PV projects. The modules are constructed using TOPCon cells based on G12 or G12R formats.

Kalpesh Kalthia, Chairman and Managing Director of Kosol Energie, said, “The future of solar energy depends not only on higher efficiency but also on long-term reliability under increasingly challenging weather conditions. Our enhanced N-Type Glass-to-Glass modules are engineered to deliver exceptional durability, helping customers maximize energy generation while reducing long-term operational risks.”
