Leascend Showcases 700W+ HJT Modules Utility At SNEC 2024

HJT Modules Based On 0BB & SMBB In Focus At The Company’s Booth

China’s Leascend Photovoltaic Technology Co. Ltd. (“Leascend PV”), focused on heterojunction (HJT) technology showcased its latest HJT series modules at the SNEC 2024 event. Still making its mark in the PV market, the company claims to have a total production capacity of 20 GW of cells and modules put together, operating in 2 locations in China. The company showcased its 2 flagship products, the Leascend Uranus G12-SMBB and G12-0BB series HJT modules at the event.

Leascend Uranus G12-SMBB

The G12-SMBB series, with 132 pieces of 210 x 105 mm size half-cut HJT cells, boasts a power output of up to 730 W and an efficiency of up to 23.5%. This dual-glass series module offers 5 different power classes from 710 W to 730 W. With dimensions of 2384 x 1303 x 35 mm, these modules are best suited for utility-scale applications. The high module-level efficiency of 23.5% converted from 25.5% efficient HJT cells can be attributed to technological progress in both cells and modules. The successful implementation of both sides of microcrystalline silicon thin-film layer deposition over the intrinsic amorphous-Si (a-Si) layer boosts module efficiency. The SMBB metallization also aids the cell efficiency, explained the company. The module’s high bifaciality of up to 90% and a low-temperature coefficient of -0.24%/℃ also contribute to high power yield and savings in balance of system (BoS) cost, according to the company. Leascend offers a standard 15-year process warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty.

Leascend Uranus G12-0BB

The company says that the G12-0BB series is a testament to the successful implementation of its busbarless technology over the HJT cell structure. In 0BB technology, the soldering ribbon is glued on top of the cell instead of soldering on specific points, leading to a thinner finger, reduced silver consumption, improved reliability, and scope for thinner wafer utilization. This latest 0BB module, with identical characteristics to the above G12-SMBB series, offers a maximum power output of 740 W and an efficiency of up to 23.82%. This module also offers a standard 15-year process warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty.

Both these products from Leascend are eco-friendly labeled, as they are free from fluorine and lead, and are already commercially available.
