LONGi, the leading vertically integrated PV manufacturer that has recently expanded into energy storage and green hydrogen segments, showcased its energy storage system (ESS) portfolio under the ‘LONGi One’ brand at Intersolar Europe 2026. The portfolio comprises the standalone OneBank 2.0 battery energy storage system (BESS) and turnkey utility OneMatrix 2.0 BESS. In terms of storage capacity, both 20 ft containerized BESSs are equipped with lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery-based racks with a cumulative storage capacity of 6.25 MWh, while their full-load power output (AC) varies. The standalone product, with four integrated string power conversion systems (PCS), each rated at 420 kW, can charge or discharge up to 1.72 MW of full-load power at 690 V AC and 0.25C rate. This 1.72 MW/6.25 MWh BESS’s counterpart features 16 PCSs with 215 kW capacity each and a cumulative full-load charging/discharging capacity of 3.44 MW at 690 V AC. It is designed for faster charging/discharging at a 0.5C rate within 2 hours or until the battery cut-off voltage is reached. However, these C-rates (for both BESSs) can be configured to lower values by adjusting the PCS capacity for a longer duration of up to 4 or 8 hours. 

The C&I ESS is equipped with 314 Ah LFP cells, making a total capacity of 261.24 kWh within a 1,902 × 1,600 × 2,351 mm cabinet. It places a single 125 kW PCS, which AC-couples the storage with the user’s existing PV array and diesel generator to maximize PV self-consumption and energy independence. According to the product datasheet, this 2-hour AC-cabinet can be upgraded to a long-duration energy storage (LDES) system by connecting 11 additional 261.24 kWh DC-cabinets (without PCS) in parallel.   

These showcased products use a circulating liquid coolant-based thermal regulation mechanism to maintain real-time cell-to-cell temperature variance within a preset threshold, balancing state-of-charge (SOC) across battery racks. Unlike conventional BESS, which require coolant to be topped up manually during periodic maintenance or when outlet-pipe pressure drops, LONGi’s utility products feature an automatic refilling mechanism. The company claims these systems can achieve a round-trip efficiency (RTE) of up to 93%. Regarding the rated operational temperature range, the C&I and utility products can operate until -30°C. But it slightly differs for higher limits, where the C&I ESS can operate up to 60°C and the utility up to 55°C. 

Emphasizing market demand for ‘a total departure from fragmented systems,’ Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi, said the LONGi One offers a ‘coordinated system, managed by one intelligent platform, backed by one single point of operational responsibility.’
