Singapore headquartered solar module manufacturer Maxeon Solar Technologies has come out with a new solar panel targeting residential customers in key international markets. It plans to sell the same through authorized installer networks and distributors.
The new panels will be commercialized by Maxeon Solar under the SunPower brand, starting from Q3/2021. Under this brand name it already produces SunPower Performance Panels, and SunPower Maxeon Panels.
According to the company's website, the new SunPower Performance 3 AC modules comprise black shingling technology with an integrated microinverter from Enphase Energy. It offers a power range of 370 W to 385 W based on monocrystalline PERC solar cells; it weighs 22.2 kg. More information about the panels is available on its website.
Maxeon Solar shared that the Performance 3 AC panel is its 2nd product in its AC portfolio as it previously launched its Maxeon 5 AC panel in late 2020 which is currently being sold in 17 European nations and Australia. It added that the new panel helps it expand its current distributed generation (DG) business under its Beyond the Panel business focus.
"The addition of a Performance line AC panel will enable us to tackle different market segments with a value line business proposition," said Maxeon Solar's CEO Jeff Waters.
This product follows the company's May 2021 launch of frameless, ultra-light, mounting/racking free 'disruptive' technology in the form of Maxeon Air solar panels with IBC cells, directed towards commercial rooftops (see 'Disruptive Technology Platform' From Maxeon Solar).
