Apart from the well-known global inverter suppliers, this year’s REI Expo also saw participation from a few Indian energy storage solution providers. Bengaluru-based POM Power, a 25-year old energy storage solutions provider, promoted its latest Grid Renewable Energy Storage Systems (GRES) among other products at the show.
IB Rao, director of POMPOWER, provided a brief overview of the latest renewable energy storage model – GRES-75-50 - during an exclusive interview with TaiyangNews.
Grid Renewable Energy Storage Systems (GRES)
Available in 6 different models - GRES-75-50, GRES-150-100, GRES-225-150, GRES-300-200, GRES-645-300, and GRES-1075-500 - the GRES system is an intelligent and modular power supply equipment. It is equipped with a lithium battery and a power conversion system (PCS), which can have access to multiple types of energy sources, including new energy, the power grid, and a diesel generator. The company's GRES-75-50 series 3-phase model, featuring 2 MPPT channels of up to 135 A DC current carrying capacity and a voltage range of 200 V to 700 V, boasts an AC output power of up to 50 kW in on-grid mode. Equipped with 15 lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells with 5.12 kWh capacity each, it can store up to 76.8 kWh energy in off-grid mode. The system also includes required safety features, such as a DC switch, an AC switch, grid monitoring, and surge protection, added the company. Measuring 1,680 x 1,502 x 1,700 mm and having an ingress protection (IP) class of IP54, this model weighs 1,395 kg. According to the company, this GRES system has multiple applications – renewable energy storage for self-consumption, peak shaving, limiting grid peak power, mobile backup power, power quality management, and short-term expansion of power capacity.
The other GRES models in the series with identical features offer AC output power of up to 500 kW and storage capacities of up to 1,075 kWh.
