Hyderabad, India, headquartered integrated PV cell and module manufacturing company Premier Energies Ltd exhibited its latest TOPCon cells and modules at the recently concluded REI 2024 exhibition.

Having recently gone public with an initial public offering (IPO), the company is in expansion mode, aiming to add 4 GW of TOPCon cell and 4 GW of module production capacity at its Hyderabad facility, according to Krishna Kumar Mishra, Deputy Manager of Premier Energies Ltd. With an existing annual production capacity of 2 GW for PV cells and 3.36 GW for PV modules, Premier Energies is currently producing M10 and G12 mono-PERC cells with efficiencies above 23%. The company’s cell line is equipped to handle various wafer sizes, including M2, G1, M4, M6, M9, M10, and G12R. The new TOPCon cell line, set to launch in Q4 2024, will mass-produce M10 bifacial cells with efficiencies exceeding 24.8%.

The company highlighted its latest dual-glass TOPCon modules at the booth.

Bifacial dual-glass TOPCon

The company introduced the latest bifacial dual-glass TOPCon modules, utilizing G12 and G12R size wafers. The G12-size cell-based module - PE-132-XXX-THGB-G12 series, featuring 132 half-cells of G12 size, features a power output of up to 710 W and an efficiency of up to 22.88%. The G12 TOPCon cell is equipped with 18 busbars (18BB), delivering an open circuit voltage (Voc) of up to 47.37 V and a short-circuit current (Isc) of up to 18.22 A, according to the company’s datasheet. Measuring 2,382 x 1,303 x 30 mm and laminated with front and rear glass of 2 mm thickness in combination with EPE-based encapsulant, the module weighs 36 kg. The module has been certified to withstand a mechanical load of up to 5,400 Pa over the front side and 2,400 Pa to the rear side. This model suits residential, utility, commercial, and off-grid PV plant applications.

Premier Energies also promoted its brand new G12R size TOPCon cell-based double-glass module in both domestic content requirement (DCR) and non-DCR categories at the show. These modules, featuring 132 G12R size half-cells, offer a power output of up to 630 W and an efficiency of up to 22.5%. The SMBB bifacial cells feature 16 busbars (16BB). Laminated with 2 mm thick front and rear side solar glass, the module dimensions are 2,382 x 1,134 mm.

Premier Energies offers 12 years of product and 30 years of linear power performance warranty for the aforementioned modules.
