Key Takeaways
  • PVH has launched its advanced pile foundation system for challenging terrain

  • The company has received the 'Zero Waste to Landfill' certificate

  • It has successfully recycled up to 98.36% of waste

PV Hardware (PVH) has recently unveiled its Spanish-engineered solar pile foundation system, designed to tackle the challenges faced by installers in utility-scale PV projects. The system, branded as PVH Terra, is suitable for demanding terrains, including soft, expansive, and frost-heave soils. According to the company, this innovative foundation offers an efficient and adaptable alternative to traditional methods, requiring minimal pre-drilling and no special machinery.

Adaptable & Efficient

PVH Terra’s advanced symmetrical design, featuring 2 screws engineered to remain perfectly perpendicular to the ground surface, ensures precise installation even when navigating subsurface obstacles. This accuracy addresses the common issues associated with machines operating at an angle, says PVH. Additionally, depending on project-specific conditions, the foundation system can reduce ground embedment depth by up to 70%, promoting environmentally-friendly installation while offering significant savings in time, cost, and materials.

‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ Certification

In line with its sustainability strategies, PVH has achieved ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ certification, with 98.36% of waste successfully recycled. The company says this certification reflects its commitment to the circular economy and reducing environmental impact, supported by its latest Scope 3 carbon emission reduction efforts (see PV CYCLE: PV Recycling & Circular Economy). PVH’s waste management milestones include 98.36% of waste recycled, 1.24% of waste sent to landfill, and 0.40% of waste managed through other sustainable treatments.

According to PVH, the certification has delivered key benefits, including reduced CO₂ emissions, optimized resource use, strengthened leadership in solar industry sustainability, and added value from waste recovery.
