Key Takeaways
  • RenewSys launched the PRESERV 300 TF USB backsheet and CONSERV EPE ACE encapsulant at Anusandhan 2026

  • The backsheet offers a water vapor transmission rate of approximately 0.01 g/m²/day

  • The EPE encapsulant incorporates anti-acid EVA formulation to support long-term module stability

Indian PV materials manufacturer RenewSys launched the PRESERV 300 TF USB backsheet and CONSERV EPE ACE encapsulant at the second edition of its Anusandhan technology conclave, held in New Delhi in July 2026.

PRESERV 300 TF USB is an ultra-low Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR) backsheet developed for glass-backsheet modules. According to RenewSys, it offers a WVTR of approximately 0.01 g/m²/day, providing a moisture barrier for the module’s rear side. The company positions it as a lighter alternative to glass-glass module construction. Another product, CONSERV EPE ACE, is an EPE encapsulant incorporating what RenewSys calls anti-acid grafted EVA technology.

According to Rajesh Singh, CEO for Encapsulants & Backsheets at RenewSys, the product is designed to balance performance, durability and cost efficiency, while the new backsheet addresses module manufacturers’ demand for improved moisture-barrier solutions.

RenewSys Vice Chairman and Managing Director Avinash Hiranandani said the 2 launches reflect the company’s focus on developing materials to improve module performance and reliability. He also highlighted the role of industry collaboration in advancing PV manufacturing in India.

The company currently operates 17 GW of encapsulant and 4 GW of backsheet manufacturing capacity. Its broader manufacturing portfolio includes 5.6 GW of PV module capacity, while a 2.7 GW solar cell production line is under installation.

RenewSys offers EVA, POE, and EPE encapsulants, as well as various backsheet products. Its portfolio is covered in the latest TaiyangNews Encapsulation Materials & Backsheets 2026 survey, and can be downloaded for free here.
