SHARP Energy Europe has expanded its n-TOPCon technology-based glass-to-backsheet NU-JC series modules with the NU-JC440 and NU-JC430B models, eyeing European residential and commercial rooftop applications. Both modules can be characterized based on multiple metrics.

Aesthetic

Acknowledging the aesthetical aspect of European domestic and commercial rooftop consumers, the company says its new models offer both black-frame with white backsheet for NU-JC440, and black-frame with black backsheet for the NUC-JC430B model.

Easy to install

The module, with compact dimensions of 1,722 x 1,134 mm and a slim frame height of 30 mm, is aimed to ensure seamless integration with residential as well as small commercial and industrial (C&I) rooftop systems. Its low weight of 20.7 kg and slim design makes it adaptable to various mounting methods, including clamping on the short and long frame sides, screwing, and sliding. SHARP emphasized that the new models' flexibility in various mounting systems optimizes the system and investment costs.

Power gain

According to the company statement, the white backsheet-based NU-JC440 model with a 440 W nameplate rating boasts an efficiency of 22.53 %. The other new launch, the 430 W black backsheet-based NU-JC430B model, exhibits a slightly lower efficiency of 22.02 %. The higher efficiency and lower temperature coefficient of – 0.300 %/℃ promise higher power gain in a high-temperature environment over its peers, says the company.

Safety & Reliability

By taking advantage of the different cell dimensions of rectangular wafer cells, in this case, the M10R (182.2 x 183.75 mm) wafer, the company experienced improved module performance. The 16-busbar round ribbon cell interconnection methodology used for both products promises reduced susceptibility to micro-cracks, the most common long-term module fault mode.

The split-junction box design with lower operational heat generation in each junction box reduces heat transfer to the cell above, which it says leads to improved module longevity and overall system performance. The long-term reliability and performance of the new modules were validated by certifications according to international testing standards – IEC 61215, IEC 61730, EN 13501 fire behavior test, salt spray test, ammonia test, and PID resistance test.

SHARP is offering long-term field performance with a 25-year EU consumer product warranty and a 30-year performance warranty for rooftop installations in Europe for both module variants.

The Vice President of Commercial Operations at SHARP Energy Solutions Europe Andrew Lee said, "The introduction of the new NU-JC440 and NU-JC430B modules with increased performance expands our product portfolio. These modules have been specifically developed for easy handling and installation in the residential and small commercial and industrial rooftop segment and meet the aesthetic requirements of our customers."
