Team TaiyangNews is on the ground at Intersolar Europe 2023, the Europe's leading solar industry exhibition at Munich, Germany from June 14 to 16, 2023, to bring to our readers some of the most interesting PV developments. To begin with, here is a sneak peak of new product presented at the show as of Wednesday.
Solar- und Carbonstoren GmbH is unveiling its new 'GreenTech' solution in the form of solar blinds. Calling it a completely new field of application for PV technology and a 'world first in photovoltaics, the company says it uses carbon slats with integrated PV modules to be used for commercial properties to serve the dual purpose of offering shade and generate clean energy for the building via a newly developed power transmission system. Developed by Hamburg based building technology specialist Andreas Rahn, the made-in-Germany technology targets office buildings with flat roofs that cannot bear the weight of heavy rooftop PV installations. "Depending on the cell technology installed, solar blinds have different levels of efficiency (on average 50 to 350 watts peak)," claims the company.
In case of extreme weather, the solar blinds can be retracted to protect the solar cells. When sun is out again, the system is automatically lowered to a 45º degree angle. Solar modules can also be updated in the system.

Meyer Burger Technology AG is coming to the Intersolar this year with its new durable and toxin-free glass-glass products. Available as Meyer Burger Panel+, the modules will be available in black, white and clear variants using heterojunction (HJT) cell technology. These are to be Made in Germany and Made in USA. The manufacturer said starting from Q4/2023, all its modules will be equipped with its patented Smart Corners which comprises frame corners that enable self-cleaning of the modules at its edges.
It also plans to showcase its solar roof tiles in the form of Meyer Burger Tile and Meyer Burger Slate variants, offering an output of 17W, both of which are to be available in H2/2023.
Meyer Burger will also display its IBC and perovskite tandem solar cells. It says modules with the IBC back-contact will be available in large-scale production from 2025.
