Key Takeaways
  • Solar Fabrik introduced a colored TOPCon module targeting installations in heritage and architecturally restricted buildings

  • Copper-red front glass enables visual integration with terracotta rooftops while maintaining light transmission

  • The module reaches 400 W output at 20.02% efficiency with a double-glass design and 30-year warranty

With increasing regulatory requirements in urban environments, particularly for heritage and protected buildings, color-adapted modules are emerging as a solution to enable solar deployment while preserving architectural character.

Solar Fabrik GmbH, a solar module manufacturer based in Germany, has introduced a colored solar module, named Mono S4 Halfcut Chroma Orange. The product is promoted for installations in heritage areas and listed buildings, where visual integration is a key requirement. It features a copper-red front glass in RAL 8004 (copper brown), commonly used in traditional terracotta roofing.

Based on n-type TOPCon technology, it is built with 96 half-cut monocrystalline cells. This bifacial module reaches an efficiency of 20.02% for a rated power output of 400 W. The module features a 2 mm dual-glass configuration with colored front glass. It uses colored, matte anti-reflective glass to maintain light transmission while improving visual integration. The anti-reflective coating improves light capture despite the colored surface, balancing aesthetics with energy yield, says Solar Fabrik.

The module measures 1,800 × 1,134 × 30 mm and weighs around 25 kg. The product is certified for ammonia and salt-mist environments. It is rated for loads of up to 5,400 Pa and hail impact up to 40 mm. Under standard test conditions, the product features a short-circuit current (Isc) of 13.60 A and an open-circuit voltage (Voc) of 35.36 V, with a maximum system voltage of 1,500 V. Solar Fabrik offers a 30-year product warranty along with a 30-year linear performance guarantee.
