Sonnenstromfabrik launched its BC module at Intersolar Europe 2026
The module delivers 500 W power output and 24.5% efficiency
The company offers a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty for the module
German solar module manufacturer Sonnenstromfabrik launched its back-contact (BC) module at Intersolar Europe 2026.
Named Professional Glass/Glass M 108, the module is built with 108 half-cut cells. A BC module has electrical contacts located on the rear of the cells, while the front has no visible metallization grid, giving the module a uniform appearance. Sonnenstromfabrik also says the design performs well under partial shading and low-light conditions.
The module uses 2 mm glass-glass configuration, with an anti-reflective coating on the front glass. It measures 1,800 × 1,134 × 35 mm and weighs 25 kg. The monofacial module offers a power output of 500 W at 24.5% efficiency.
While not unique, the product supports design loads of 5,400 Pa for snow and 2,400 Pa for wind. It also features a temperature coefficient of -0.26%/K. The company offers a 25-year product warranty and a 30-year linear performance warranty on the module.
For conventional rooftops, Sonnenstromfabrik offers a glass-glass module designed to provide additional protection against cell microcracks. The company also provides a glass-backsheet module that weighs 22 kg, 4 kg less than the glass-glass version. The portfolio also includes a 445 W roof-integrated module with a 16 mm frame.
For projects prioritizing lower embodied carbon, the company offers modules made primarily with raw materials carrying certified low-carbon footprints. Sonnenstromfabrik says its audited production facility in Wismar generates 40% lower CO₂ emissions than the average German competitor and 70% lower emissions than the competitors.
