Staubli International AG, a leading global company in electrical components and connector solutions, showcased its latest connector solutions for PV applications in the US market at the RE+ 2024 event in Anaheim, California.

During a one-on-one conversation between TaiyangNews and the sales manager of Staubli, Brandon Brewer gave a brief overview of the latest Original MC4-Evo 2000 series PV connector and the large-diameter BosCon connectors, among other offerings, at the show.

Original MC4-Evo 2000

The new Original MC4-Evo 2000 series PV connector is the latest addition to Staubli’s PV connector product portfolio. This latest PV connector, featuring Staubli’s branded Original MC4 connector and Evo 2 crimp termination, can withstand a maximum system voltage of up to 2,000 V DC. Claiming to be the 1st of its kind in the industry, this PV connector, certified according to the cULus standards, can carry up to 70 A DC current. Its outer insulation material has been changed to a new PC type of material, added the company. During the installation, Staubli’s Evo 2 type crimp termination inside the new PV connector ensures compatibility with the market-available crimping tools. This latest Original MC4-Evo 2000 series PV connector was launched in the market in the 1st week of September 2024 and is now commercially available for sales, shared Staubli.

BosCon connector

Staubli’s latest commercially launched BosCon connector, the PV connector for connecting large-size copper conductors, was on display at the show. This UL-certified connector has a rated maximum system voltage of 1,500 V DC and up to 620 A current carrying capacity. The new connector can carry copper conductors of up to 600 MCM. Staubli is in the development phase for an upgraded version, which can connect copper conductors of up to 1,000 MCM. This will be followed by the development of a panel-mounted version of BosCon connector, added the company. The company also is in the development stage for the transition from copper to aluminum conductors, which will allow direct crimp to large-size aluminum wire cable.
