Sungold pitched its anti-shading technology during the exhibition
The company also displayed its lightweight flexible PV module, PA219
In addition, it promoted its lightweight PV panel, PA621
The solar PV industry has emphasized making application-specific PV modules to meet the growing demand for extreme environments and special scenarios in recent years.
In line with this trend, Shenzhen Sungold Solar Co., Ltd., a China-based PV module maker, exhibited its product range for flexible and lightweight applications at Intersolar Europe 2026.
The company showcased its PA219 series flexible PV panel at the show. This frameless module is equipped with 108 M10 half-cells and is rated for up to 460 W of power at an efficiency of 22.07%. Instead of conventional front glass, the company uses a stack of a transparent HPC film + encapsulant film + CPC film + encapsulant film. The intermediate cell matrix is laminated with this polymer-based stack on the front and a backsheet on the rear. The module measures 2,250 × 1,125 × 3 mm and weighs 9.8 kg. According to the company, it has 35% less weight density than the conventional glass-backsheet modules and is suitable for low-load-bearing commercial & industrial (C&I) or residential roofs. The module can also conform to the surface of curved roofs. At the same time, it maintains stiffness and resistance to bending deformation under load, helping to resist cell cracks. On the optical side, it exhibits an anti-glare property due to the matte surface design of the frontsheet. It scatters the falling sunlight and reduces specular light reflection or bright glare at high irradiance. This characteristic makes the module suitable for roofs near sensitive areas such as airports. In the event of a fire, the module exhibits fire-retardant behavior and restricts fire propagation to the underlying roofs. The company attributes this safety function to the flame-retardant polymer materials, used in the backsheet, and additives. This module has a product warranty of up to 10 years.
The displayed PA621 series lightweight module features a transparent HPC frontsheet + encapsulation film + cell matrix + backplanes + encapsulation film + fiberglass-reinforced backsheet. The module measures 1,315 × 807 × 12 mm and weighs 5.42 kg. The company primarily attributes this reduced weight to the adoption of fiberglass-reinforced material, which maintains high strength while weighing a fraction of steel or aluminum. In terms of performance, it is rated for up to 170 W of power. This full-black module is relevant for vehicle and lightweight roof and balcony PV applications.
Both modules feature anti-shading technology to optimize power generation under shading from permanent structures such as chimneys, roof sections, and trees. It bypasses a small segment of the cell matrix by activating strategically placed bypass diodes, rather than turning off a sub- or entire string, under partial shading conditions. This function reduces power loss and hotspot risks due to permanent shading throughout the day.
